Scorpion from Mortal Kombat.

Here’s an old Scorpion character I painted as part of a Mortal Kombat wall.

I used to love playing the video game, in fact, I was addicted to it for quite some time!

A Wasp’s Head – Spray painting

Just digging through some old photos and found this painting of a wasp’s head I had a go at a few years back using spray paint. I enjoyed painting it and it’s still knocking around somewhere, though I’m not sure where!

I like to take a few photos while I’m making a painting. I find that looking at a piece through the lens is a great way to see it from another perspective. Sometimes I can go a little ‘blind’ to the work when I’m looking at it constantly and the camera gives it me through ‘fresh’ eyes.

LOVE IS A TIME MACHINE

Love is a time machine – Oil and acrylics on canvas. 70cm x 60cm – 2008

One of my favourite paintings from a few years ago. It now belongs to a friend of mine but I’ve left it somewhere and need to get to get it back to him..

I just like what it says! Love really is a time machine! Memories and feelings are truly wonderful things!

Hope you enjoy it too!

Behind the scenes – Studio photos over the years

I haven’t posted much artwork recently. This is partly because I haven’t been making much and also because I have been obsessed with running!

I have been rummaging through my photos for a bit of creative inspiration and came across some old studio photos and thought they would make an interesting blog post!

I’ve made work in many different studio spaces, some I have shared with others and some I have worked in alone. I’ve worked in nice clean spaces with heating and I’ve worked in derelict buildings with roofs caving in and  the rain leaking everywhere.

I hope you have enjoyed a little look behind the scenes of some of my paintings! I certainly enjoyed reminiscing over them!
